Independent Trade Union of Police : Talks with Prime Minister on Monday

The union requests a 40 percent increase in salaries, as well as procurement of new uniforms and shoes, as well as the amendments to certain articles of the Law on Police and the signing of a special collective agreement.

The talks between the representatives of the Independent Trade Union of Police and Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic on the requests for the increase in salaries and improvement of the working conditions in the police will most likely be held on Monday, February 7, the Union Vice-President Velimir Barbulov has stated for Tanjug.

At the talks on Friday, the Union and the representatives of the Interior Ministry did not reach agreement to end the strike.

Barbulov told Tanjug that, out of 13,000 Union members, about 70 percent joined the strike.

The union requests a 40 percent increase in salaries, as well as procurement of new uniforms and shoes, as well as the amendments to certain articles of the Law on Police and the signing of a special collective agreement.

The other union, the Police Union of Serbia, does not support the strike of the police.
