Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said on Wednesday that there is no political crisis in Serbia at the moment and that the state continues its progress on the European course.

There is no dilemma that Serbia will keep going towards this year’s goal, which is to acquire a positive opinion of the European Commission regarding Serbia’s request to become a candidate for European Union membership and to determine a date when the negotiations will commence, Dacic said.

Current development on the political scene should not affect Serbia’s European course at all, he said.

This means that the EU membership should be the national and state goal of the parliamentary majority and of every political party that wishes this country well, Dacic said.

Even in conditions of some political instability, Serbia, like other states, should follow the set rules for conduct of the authorities in such cases, he said.
