Belgrade to be world's gastronomic capital from April 11-13

Belgrade will be the gastronomic capital of the world from April 11-13, when the Second Balkan Culinary Cup will gather 500 highly acclaimed chefs and pastry chefs from 14 countries, in the organization of the Culinary Federation of Serbia (KFC), it was announced at a press conference on Thursday.

Belgrade will be the gastronomic capital of the world from April 11-13, when the Second Balkan Culinary Cup will gather 500 highly acclaimed chefs and pastry chefs from 14 countries, in the organization of the Culinary Federation of Serbia (KFC), it was announced at a press conference on Thursday.

The Second Balkan Culinary Cup will be opened by Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric, and 100 chefs will be competing each day in more than 17 categories, such as meat dishes, fish dishes, pastas, the best vegetarian dish, the best chef of Serbia and the Balkans and others, said KFC Vice President Petar Gajic.

Besides chefs from regional countries, the Second Balkan Culinary Cup will host participants from Portugal, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Canada, Russia, Italy and Israel.

At the same time, the Board of Directors of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) will be held from April 8-13. WACS President Gissur Gudmundsson will preside over the meeting.
