Head of Serbia's negotiation team for the talks with Kosovo Borislav Stefanovic said Tuesday that the two sides had agreed to ask mediator Robert Cooper to offer a solution for the telecommunications issues, since they have not been able to reach one so far.
"We have agreed to let Cooper point to the common ground he sees and offer something we could discuss," Stefanovic told Tanjug.
It would not be a take-it-or-leave-it offer, but a compromise that would then be reviewed by Belgrade and Pristina, he explained.
"It would be a suggestion we would discuss and which we expect to be a mix of both sides' interests," Stefanovic remarked, adding that the next round of the talks will be held mid-May.
Leader of the Kosovo team Edita Tahiri confirmed to the media in Pristina that the two sides had agreed to ask Cooper for assistance regarding telecommunications and energy.
Telecommunications became a serious problem when the Kosovo authorities decided to cut the signal of Serbian mobile and landline operators last year.
