EPS signs TENT modernization contract with Siemens

Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) CEO Dragomir Markovic and head of Siemens' energy sector Reto Nauli signed Tuesday a CHF 9.3 million contract for the first stage in the modernization of the monitoring and control system in the Nikola Tesla B thermal power plant (TENT) in Obrenovac.
Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) CEO Dragomir Markovic and head of Siemens' energy sector Reto Nauli signed Tuesday a CHF 9.3 million contract for the first stage in the modernization of the monitoring and control system in the Nikola Tesla B thermal power plant (TENT) in Obrenovac.
The total value of the project has been estimated at CHF 28.6 million, Markovic said at the signing.
The project is part of the bilateral cooperation program between Serbia and Switzerland. The Swiss government provided non-returnable funds in the amount of CHF 10.5 million, and the remaining CHF 18.4 million will come from EPS.
The project will be realized over the next three years, it was said at the news conference and pointed out it will improve the efficiency of TENT B and environmental protection.
It was also pointed out that the Swiss government has invested CHF 200 million to date in energy efficiently projects in Serbia, as well as education, support to underdeveloped communities and other areas. Switzerland plans to make Serbia one of its two main investment destinations in the Balkans.
