Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuci on May 4 said the Pristina government had allowed Belgrade negotiating team chief Borislav Stefanovic to visit Kosovo, adding that the Kosovo officials were ready to meet him and discuss topics of mutual interest.
"The visit was allowed under the same conditions as the one of President Boris Tadic, on the condition that no harmful political statements are uttered," Kuci told the press.
On May 4, Stefanovic said he expected the next round of the Belgrade Pristina dialog to take place in Brussels midMay, before which he would visit Pristina to explain to the Albanians the Belgrade authorities' view of the situation. Stefanovic added that he would also visit the Serbs in Kosovo north and south of the Ibar River.
The Belgrade Pristina dialog is due to continue on May 17 and 18.
Head of Pristina's negotiating team in the dialogue with Belgrade Edita Tahiri stated that it is not the right moment for Kosovo officials to meet with head of Belgrade's negotiating team Borislav Stefanovic.
I have been informed about the plans of Serbia's representative in the technical dialogue Stefanovic to visit Kosovo and meet with representatives of Kosovo institutions.
He announced the visit even earlier during the meetings in Brussels, Tahiri said in a phone statement for Pristina-based Albanian language daily Koha Ditore.
Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Hajredin Kuci stated that the government has given consent to Stefanovic's visit to Kosovo.
