Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic stated that neither Serbs nor Albanians have a call when it comes to Kosovo, but that the decision is made by the greatest world forces, and added that the fairytale about a multiethnic Kosovo should be forgotten.

“If we thought about problems decades in advance, we would not be here now. Anyone can interpret this as they see fit, but there is only one reality. Greatest forces decide on the Kosovo išue, not Serbs or Albanians. The fairytale about a multiethnic Kosovo should be forgotten,” Dacic said in an interview for the Belgrade-based daily Press.

“It is clear to everyone that what we see here at work is the project of creation of a greater Albania. Maybe not an immediate creation, but Kosovo is not a small country and a tourist heaven like Monaco or San Marino, so it cannot survive on its own. This is why talks with Albania were necešary. That way we would have avoided the procešes of recognition of Kosovo's independence and opinion divides in the world,” Dacic said.

When asked about the stands he heard from the ruling coalition in Serbia and those from the international community, Dacic specified that this is his personal political stand, although they keep telling him that he has violated the state policy and that he is a traitor.
