The families of kidnapped and missing Serbs in Kosmet are marking today the Day of Missing Persons, as the first mass kidnapping took place on June 22, 1998, exactly 13 years ago.

The coordinator of the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Missing Persons, Milorad Trifunović, said he would demand of the international community to invest more efforts in shedding light on the missing.

On 22 June 1998, Kosmet Serbs in Belacevac, Orahovac, Velika Hoca, Zociste, Opterusa and Retimlje were kidnapped and went missing in mass numbers.

Trifunovic said he expected that the remains of 26 Serbs suspected to be in a mass grave in Zilivode would be found, after which a DNA analysis will ensue.
