Serbian folk singer Svetlana Raznatovic and her sister Lidija Ocokoljic on Wednesday started serving their sentences of house arrest, after members of the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions placed electronic bracelets around their ankles, Administration spokeswoman Zorana Vucicevic told Tanjug.

Earlier today, the Administration received a copy of the final ruling against Raznatovic and her sister, after which the alternative sanctions department went about implementing the sentence.

The two will serve the sentence at Raznatovic's home in Belgrade and will need court permission to go outside.

In a plea agreement, Raznatovic pleaded guilty to stealing money from transfers of Obilic football players to foreign clubs and illegal possession of 11 guns, in exchange for one year under house arrest and a EUR 1.5 million fine.

Lidija Velickovic Ocokoljic admitted she aided her sister in illegal activities related to the players' transfers in exchange for six months under house arrest.

Since she already spent four months in custody in 2003 during police operation Saber, the popular singer has to serve another eight months, while her sister, who was also arrested, has four and a half months left to serve.
