The heads of police of Serbia and Montenegro pointed out that the signing of this protocol shows that cooperation between police units of the two countries is good.
Head of police of the Serbian Ministry of the Interior Milorad Veljovic and Head of the Montenegro Police Administration Veselin Veljovic signed yesterday, in the presence of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic, the Protocol on police cooperation between the two countries during the tourist season.
After the signing of the protocol, Dacic said that this document is a step ahead in cooperation of the police of the two countries.
He explained that until 31 August two policemen from Serbia will work in Budva and Herceg Novi, and that their task will be to work together with their Montenegrin colleagues on maintaining public peace and order and to perform duties of the criminal police.
It is in the interest of Serbian citizens who are on holiday in Montenegro that policemen of their country are in the main tourist centres and help them if necessary, Dacic said.
