Foreign Ministry political director Borislav Stefanovic said on July 12 that he had received confirmation from British Foreign Office officials in London that the agreements reached by Belgrade and Pristina so far did not in any way endanger Serbia's position on Kosovo's status.

Stefanovic, who heads Serbia's team in negotiations with Pristina, met with British Minister for Europe David Lidington and other Foreign Office officials in London July 11-12.

"We have seized this opportunity to give a projection for future talks, which subjects are important and need to be resolved sooner," Stefanovic told BETA.

He added that the visit had been an opportunity to "raise support for our measures in the negotiating process thus far, as well [obtain] further confirmation that all of the solutions reached so far will not jeopardize our stance on Kosovo's status in any way."

He stressed that discussions on the negotiations with Pristina would resume on July 13, when EU senior diplomat Robert Cooper was scheduled to arrive to prepare the next round of talks with Kosovo on July 20, according to Brussels.
