Serbian Orthodox Patriarch Irinej will pay his first official visit to the Diocese of Budim and Niksic in Montenegro on Friday, with the central event of the visit being held at the Church of St Basil of Ostrog in Niksic July 31.

Serbian Orthodox Patriarch Irinej will pay his first official visit to the Diocese of Budim and Niksic in Montenegro on Friday, with the central event of the visit being held at the Church of St Basil of Ostrog in Niksic July 31.

According to an announcement from the diocese, the patriarch will visit the Djurdjevi Stupovi church in Berane, Church of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Bijelo Polje, Church of Christ's Nativity in Mojkovac, Church of Holy Transfiguration in Zabljak, Piva church and Church of St Luke in Zupa Niksicka.

The patriarch is visiting the diocese on invitation from Bishop Joanikije.
