Dulic: Serbia's construction sector to exit crisis

Dulic said that the state will make additional efforts to enable the construction sector to reestablish itself as the motor of development of the domestic economy, the ministry stated.

The Ministry of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning has launched 246 projects in Serbia as part of the assistance program for construction industry amounting to RSD 18 billion, Minister of Environment, Mining and Spatial Planning Oliver Dulic stated on the occasion of the Day of Construction Workers of Serbia, stressing that the construction sector is on its way to overcome the crisis.

Dulic said that the state will make additional efforts to enable the construction sector to reestablish itself as the motor of development of the domestic economy, the ministry stated.

“As in all parts of the world, the consequences of the global economic crisis are most visible in the construction sector. However, it is good news that after many years all parameters show that the investments, which were launched by the state, have helped the construction sector to start its exit from the crisis,” the minister sad.

He recalled that a new housing block is under construction in Belgrade's municipality of Vozdovac at the place of former military barracks.

The Day of Construction Workers of Serbia is marked since 1940 when a massive strike of construction workers took place.
