Head of the Serbian government media office Milivoje Mihajlovic voiced his expectation that the interim agreement reached between the Serbian government and KFOR will be approved at the Tuesday session of representatives of four municipalities from the north of Kosovo-Metohija.

Head of the Serbian government media office Milivoje Mihajlovic voiced his expectation that the interim agreement reached between the Serbian government and KFOR will be approved at the Tuesday session of representatives of four municipalities from the north of Kosovo-Metohija.

The people in northern Mitrovica realized that the agreement will help ease the tensions, that it will prevent further incidents and protect the north of Kosovo-Metohija from future rash attempts of the Pristina authorities to assume control over the north of the province, Mihajlovic said.

The fears of Serbs living in northern Kosovo are well-grounded, because in the past there were several attempts at seizing that part of the province, Mihajlovic said in a live broadcast on RTS.

Therefore, the Serbs from the north are in fear of new incidents and pressures and concerned about the Serbs living in enclaves in the south of Kosovo-Metohija, because they are apprehensive that these Serbs may be the target of possible provocation of the Pristina authorities, he said.

According to Mihajlovic, the representatives of four municipalities from northern Kosovo should reach a wise decision which will ease the tensions and restore life back to normal, and thus remove all possible threats they could face in this moment.
