The night between Saturday and Sunday passed peacefully in northern Kosovo, with a minor incident near the village of Zupce, and increased police presence in Kosovska Mitrovica.
Around 8 pm Saturday, shots were fired in the area of the Serb-populated village of Zupce and the neighboring Albanian village of Cabar.
We do not know the exact location where the shots came from. There is no information about property damage or wounded people, said regional spokesman for the Kosovo police Besim Hoti.
After the shooting, Serbs put up another barricade next to the one already mounted in Zupce, on the road from Kosovska Mitrovica to Ribarici.
Gravel was unloaded Saturday night across both lanes of the road leading to the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
After the shooting, the night went by peacefully and without further incidents.
At the barricades, both on roads across northern Kosovo and at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings, the night was peaceful and incident-free.
Hoti said the police increased its presence in the mixed communities in the northern part of Mitrovica.
For the first time, KFOR posted an armored transporter in front of the court house in northern Mitrovica on Saturday night.
Around 7:30 pm, a convoy of the KFOR special military police made up of six jeeps and one armored vehicle arrived from the direction of southern Mitrovica to the court house gates.
After a short stop, the jeeps started patrolling the streets of northern Mitrovica, while the armored vehicle remained parked in front of the court house.
