The emphasis in Serbia-Macedonia relations in the following period should be on infrastructure links, particularly in the domain of roads and energy, which should enable a better economic cooperation, Serbian Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic Dejanovic and Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov agreed Friday.

Discussing the situation in the region, Ivanov and Djukic Dejanovic assessed at the meeting in Skopje that the region needs a European perspective, and expressed hope that all regional countries will achieve progress in their EU integration processes, regardless of any obstacles on their EU pathways, Ivanov's cabinet released in a statement.

The continuation of the EU integration is the best way towards prosperity and stability in the region, Ivanov underlined. According to the statement, the two officials also expressed satisfaction with the good relations between the two countries. Ivanov commended the Serbia-Macedonia parliamentary cooperation so far, assessing it as highly significant for the two countries' overall relations.
