Two agriculture agreements signed with Macedonia

Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management Dusan Petrovic signed yesterday with Macedonian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ljupco Dimovski the Agreement on phytosanitary cooperation.

Minister of Agriculture, Trade, Forestry and Water Management Dusan Petrovic signed yesterday with Macedonian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Ljupco Dimovski the Agreement on phytosanitary cooperation.

Petrovic also signed the Agreement in the field of food safety and veterinary medicine with Director of the Macedonian Agency for Food and Veterinary Medicine Dejan Runtevski.

The Minister said that the Agreement on phytosanitary cooperation aims to facilitate uninterrupted circulation of plants and plant products.

He explained that the document was signed for a five year period and will protect the territories of both countries.

He said that the Agreement on phytosanitary cooperation complies with the International Plant Protection Convention and will contribute to improving bilateral relations between Macedonia and Serbia.

The Agreement on food safety and veterinary medicine was also signed for a five-year period in order to enhance cooperation, facilitate trade in animals and animal products, food and feed without restriction of mutual trade, while maintaining the protection of life and public health, Petrovic said.

The signing of the agreements was attended by President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Milos Bugarin and representatives of the Serbian agri-food companies which are the most important foreign trade partners with Macedonia.
