Dinar resumes its slide against euro

The Serbian dinar will on Thursday, after one day of growth, drop by 0.4 percent and set the official middle exchange rate at RSD 110.5837 per the euro, which will be the domestic currency's new historic low, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has said in a release.

Compared to a month ago, the dinar will be weaker by 4.4, and compared to the prior year by 6.5 percent.

This year, the dinar was the strongest on January 11, when one euro was worth RSD 103.6922.

Since the beginning of the year, the central bank has sold a total of EUR 188.5 million euros to alleviate the excessive daily exchange rate volatility.

The indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate was 82.1146 on Wednesday, lower by 0.4 percent compared to the day before. On a monthly basis, the dinar dropped against the U.S. dollar by 1.4, and on the annual level by 8.9 percent.
