"The independence of Kosovo will happen in the next few days, regardless if Tadic or Nikolic wins," Thaqi said

Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaqi announced  that the Serbian province will declare its independence within days of this weekend's Serbian presidential elections, regardless of who wins the vote

He also stated that Kosovo will be engaged in building neighbourly relations with all countries of the region, including Serbia.

Kosovo PM said once more that Kosovo entered the final stage of its preparation for proclaiming independence, adding that all activities of Kosovo's institutions will be coordinated with international partners, and a prospective international mission is welcome in Kosovo.

The decision on proclaiming independence will be conducted in full cooperation with Washington and Brussels, which will make a decision to recognize Kosovo's independence simultaneously, said Thaqi.
