Agricultural Foreign Trade Surplus

The Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) said that Serbia made US$ 220.3 mn surplus in food and agricultural foreign trade in the first nine months of 2006.
The report added that in the first nine months of 2006 Serbia exported food and agricultural products worth US$ 856.4 mn and imported goods worth US$ 636.1 mn. Serbia’s agricultural products export was 9.9 percent higher while the import was 7.6 percent lower than in the same period in 2005. The results show that it that Serbia’s agriculture exports could reach approximately US$ 1.1 bn while imports could be up to US$ 850-900 mn by the end of the year. That would mean US$ 250-300 mn surplus in agricultural foreign trade.
