In a month's time, Bulgaria will abolish visas for the citizens of Serbia who live within 35km border zone, Serbia's Ambassador in Sofia Danilo Vujacic has said.

Ambassador Vujacic conveyed the statement to businessmen at a regional business forum of Serbia and Bulgaria, the Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) reported.

The abolishment of visas for the border zone is the result of the Border Trade Agreement which the interior ministers of Serbia and Bulgaria recently defined.

Bulgaria, as a member of the EU, will lobby for cross-border cooperation projects, and the municipalities that that will benefit the most from this will be the ones located in southeast Serbia and west Bulgaria.
