Philip Morris Concerned over CEFTA

The U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Michael Polt says Philip Morris is concerned over the changes in the business conditions induced by the CEFTA agreement.
Polt said he expected the Serbian government to fulfil its obligations and find a solution to the problem. “If that doesn’t happen, foreign investors will get the impression that doing business in Serbia is unpredictable. This is an important test for the Serbian government to prove the opposite is true”, he told the Biznis magazine. Polt added he had met with the Philip Morris International representatives to discuss the problems the company might face following the cancellation of tobacco customs duties after CEFTA takes effect, in case the Serbian government failed to come up with a solution.
