France Jeopardizes German Economic Leadership

France could in two to three decades take Germany’s place as Europe’s most powerful economy, the German Economic Institute has announced.
A recently published study shows that France, with a slower-aging population than that of Germany, could as soon as in 2035 become a leading economic nation in Europe. The key reason is the favorable demographic development. While four years ago Germany embarked on what experts dubbed irreversible population decline, a long-term rise is predicted in France.
