Impressive monument and I think it's a shame that some people smear their graffiti on it. This is part of history... this should be respected and appreciated!

Absolutely great!! This is THE place where you can meet, drink, eat, have fun, take a photo, or just sit idly relishing the stunning monument and the lively people of different cultures. This monument is not to be missed as it is gorgeous to watch the Equestrian statue of Prince Mihailo! It is in the main republic square and it was erected in 1882. This place is always active and it's worthy.

Овај споменик и трг на коме се налази је можда најпознатије место у Београду. У центру града, изузетно широка затворена зона и добро место за окупљање људи и уживање у времену, сликање за успомену итд. Такође је добро што видим ово место скоро сваки пут чисто.

This famous monument was built in 1882 in the the Republic Square, just in front of the National Museum. The monument is dedicated to Prince Mihailo Obrenovic and the liberation of Serbia from Turkish authorities. The monument was erected in 1882, the work of Florentine sculptor Enrico Pazzi. It was the first public sculptural monument unveiled in Belgrade and the only equestrian monument in Belgrade. The unveiling of the monument was a great event for Belgrade and Serbia, confirmed by the poems written for that purpose and printed lithographs representing the square with festive decorations, military musicians in uniforms and the gathered crowd of citizens.

This monument and the square which is located in is maybe the most famous place in Belgrade. In the middle of the city, extremely wide closed-traffic area and a good place for the people to come together and enjoy the weather, take some pictures for a memory etc. It is also good that i see this place almost everytime clean.
