The RUDEST service I've ever received in my 32 years of life on this planet. My partner and I speak Spanish, English, German and French between us, but our first language is English. When we entered the building that was extremely difficult to find given it is in an apartment complex (??), we asked if anyone spoke English and offered a translator to assist in communication. Immediately some thumb-looking man huffed across the room ranting about how it isn't his job to learn English and why can't we just speak Serbian, in perfect English mind you. We both raised our eyebrows and walked past him to the woman who was actually in charge and again greeted her with a Serbian hello. She simply outstretched a hand to us so I confusingly tried to hand her my phone I was using as a translator. She scoffed and rolled her eyes, "not that, I need the paper", again in perfect English. She rolled her eyes "why would I need your phone?" and started clicking away at her computer. I brushed it off and was more concerned about getting my pet's paperwork approved so we could leave the country as planned. Eventually she hands me paperwork in Serbian with broken English translations and I begin to fill it out. She was incredibly impatient with me as I asked to clarify a few pieces of info before writing them down in ink, but again I just ignore it and power through. She said to come back at 2pm for the final paperwork (several hours later). Having done my research I know they close at 2pm so I asked if I understood correctly via my translator app and she rolled her eyes again and said do not come before 2pm and to bring a piece of paper to the post office to pay for the paperwork. This is a separate saga, but bottom line it was about $50 USD to get this paperwork. We returned at 1:30pm to be safe and again got endless attitude and rude comments from the staff (including the thumb) about being early, but our paperwork was done so we took it and left. When we were traveling no one asked for this paperwork and we later found out that since we were traveling to an EU country this certificate wasn't even necessary (Source: https://www.vet.minpolj.gov.rs/movement-of-pets/). Ultimately, this entire experience felt like an elaborate scam. I loved visiting Serbia, but this made me want to never return, at least not with a pet. Questions for the staff: If you hate foreigners why do a job that revolves around interacting with foreigners? Why are you so immediately angry at people's existence? Are you ok?
Very professional and kind service. An inspector explained all procedure in details, we successfully obtained the needed certificate.
Strange to see a government service in a private apartment. Place is out of the way in an upscale part of town without any public transport running nearby, so you probably would come by car... yet there is no parking space. Hours are a bit strange but the service was expeditive.
A bit harder to find as it is located within a residential building without any markings on the outside whatsoever. The entrance to the building is on the left (when facing the building from the street) and the offices are located on the second floor. Call ahead to schedule an appointment. If you are looking to get a travel permit for your pet, documentation dropoff is from 9 to 10am. Pickup of the finished permit is at 14h on the same day (after having paid 4750 dinar at any bank, post office or exchange office... A prefilled payment slip will be provided when you drop off the documentation). Keep in mind that some of these procedures have changed over time and might change again in the future. Overall the employees of the inspection are courteous and professional. Summertime is the busiest time of the year and you may find people waiting outside the office well before 9 o'clock. Parking is very limited as this is a residential building with reserved private parking spaces so account for time to park further up or down the street. NOTE: The 1 star deduction is a reflection of the lack of visible markings or signs that point to the location of the offices, and the somewhat difficult parking situation at peak hours in season, not the overall experience or employee interaction.
Very professional place. There are a few steps you need to be aware in advance: You should make an appointment and you should predict that you will wait few h whitin which you also need to pay certain tax that they will issue you invoice for. Tax can't be paid at the same place but you need to go to nearest bank. People here are very friendly and helpful.
Visited on 31.05.23 to get all documents for my dog to fly into Israel. Everything went very well, highly professional English-speaking lady has filled out all documents while I went for a walk to the nearest Post Office to pay the certificate fee. Just got an approval from the Tel Aviv airport, they accepted it! Thank you 🔆 P.S. Door is open, just push it very hard, otherwise an angry security man will come down and scream at you 🙈
