Number of unemployed persons in BiH increased in March

Decrease of number of unemployed persons in BiH of 0.05% was registered in March first time after the nine months of continuous growth of unemployment.

- At the end of March there were 519.207 unemployed persons registered which represents decrease for 255 persons or 0.05% compared to previous month – BiH Agency for Work and Employment Huso Saric said.

Saric said at the press-conference that that fact with positive movement of other macro-economic indicators of BiH economy can point to gradual recovery of BiH economy and getting out of crisis.

He added that it is positive that employees in BiH showed need in March for 2.453 workers which is more for 902 persons or 58.16% compared to previous month.

17.247 persons that stopped working registered in the first two months of 2010 to the records of employment services in BiH.

Out of that number 1.478 were registered on the basis of insolvency or liquidation of a company, 6.943 as redundancy, and 8.835 persons were registered on the basis of expiration of their fixed term agreements, violation of working obligations and other reasons.

13.645 persons were erased from the records of employment services in March and out of that number 5.929 were employed which is 1.447 persons more compared to previous month.
