24 bakeries and sandwich stores were closed in two days (on 12-13 August) out of a total of 55 fast food facilities due to failing to meet hygienic standards, Health Minister Bujar Osmani informed Tuesday.

- I am satisfied with the intensity of inspection activities, but I'm worried with the situation in fast food facilities. These controls have determined that a lot more needs to be done in raising awareness about food safety, Osmani stated.

The Minister said that by September 1, the State Sanitary and Health Inspectorate would carry out inspections in all school facilities to check whether sanitary and hygienic shortcomings had been amended.
