Air traffic grows on Bucharest's two airports

The air traffic increased by ten percent on Otopeni Airport and by three percent on Baneasa Airport, in the first half of the year, according to the data sent by the Bucharest Airports National Company.

The air traffic increased by ten percent on Otopeni Airport and by three percent on Baneasa Airport, in the first half of the year, according to the data sent by the Bucharest Airports National Company.

The company registered in the first half of 2010 for the two airports in Bucharest - Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport and Bucharest-Baneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport - a total traffic flow of 3.18 million passengers and 47,604 commercial aircrafts movements (landings and takeoffs).

In H1, 2010, the passenger traffic on Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport (AIHCB) rose by 10 percent from the same period of time last year, reaching 2.21 million passengers. Compared with the same time span, the number of commercial aircrafts movements increased by nearly 2.5 percent, to 34,518 landings and takeoffs undertaken on the two runways of the airport.

In H1 this year, 65 percent of the total passenger number embarking on the Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport had as destinations the Schenghen-member states.
