The first aid for the flooded areas in the Northern part of Albania reached Durres. 5 trucks have been sent by the Italian government and the Red Cross, which include 25 tons of food, 5 tons of equipments for the citizens of the flooded areas and other indispensable articles for everyday life. Italian Ambassador to Tirana Saba D’Ellia and Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs Avenir Peka were present in the Port of Durres.

“We want to give our help for the North-Western parts of Albania, for Shkodra, which is now under water, and for the emergency situation that Albania is undergoing. The aid was sent by the Department of Civil Defense, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by the Italian Red Cross. It will be placed at the disposal of the people of Shkodra,” said Italian Ambassador to Tirana, Saba D’Ellia.

“It is not the first time that the Italian government has helped the Albanian government and the Albanian citizens. I also expect that the Italian government and other institutions, including the Italian Red Cross, will continue supporting the Albanians,” said Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs, Avenir Peka.
