Bulgaria will keep its diplomatic mission in Libya

The Bulgarian position on the situation is that the territorial integrity of the country should be preserved with the firm support of all Arabic states from the region and all parts of the Libyan society.

This country will keep its diplomatic mission in Libya in order for cooperation and support to be provided to those Bulgarian citizens who might need it.

There are some 200 Bulgarians in Libya currently, Foreign Minister Nikolay Mladenov voiced to Bulgarian journalists in Brussels. Mr. Mladenov participated in an emergency unofficial meeting of EU’s foreign ministers, who discussed the situation in Libya.

Minister Mladenov underlined that the efforts of European Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response Kristalina Georgieva had been applauded at the meeting, along with those of the countries that participated in the rescue operations in Libya.
