President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik has stated that he talked Wednesday in Belgrade with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin about the political situation in RS and Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH), as well as about economic cooperation.
“We discussed a number of issues. Putin was interested in the political situation and the Dayton Peace Accords. We are glad that Russia shares our viewpoint regarding the Dayton Agreement,” Dodik told RS journalists.
Dodik underlined that the Russian prime minister is well-informed about the situation in RS and BiH as a whole, the local media reported.
“Putin's commitment to implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement is very important to us, as well as his stands on the situation with the Office of the High Representative (OHR). Now, we are even more convinced that we are of the same mind regarding these issues,” Dodik underlined.
He said that they also discussed the realization of economic projects, underlining that Russia is BiH's greatest trade partner. The country has also made great capital investments, financing modernization of the BiH oil sector with BAM 330 million, he added.
Dodik noted that they also talked about possible speeding up of Russian investments, as well as concession projects for RS oil field research and RS participation in the South Stream project.
