Two earthquakes struck Croatia early Thursday morning - the first near Dubrovnik around 5 a.m. and the second 30 kilometers north of Zadar around 8 a.m.

Two earthquakes struck Croatia early Thursday morning - the first near Dubrovnik around 5 a.m. and the second 30 kilometers north of Zadar around 8 a.m.

The earthquake felt in the area around Dubrovnik had the magnitude of 3.1 on the Richter scale and four degrees on the Mercalli scale, said the Seismological Service.

Just after 8 a.m., a weaker earthquake was recorded with an epicenter 30 kilometers north of Zadar, and a magnitude of 2.3 on the Richter scale and three to four degrees on the Mercalli scale.

There is no information about the damage caused by either earthquake.
