The investment in Pleso airport is estimated at 192 million Euros. The final offers of the remaining six "contestants" will be published on 31 October, daily Vecernji List writes.

Six out of ten candidates have made it to the next round of competition for the concession over Pleso airport in Croatian capital Zagreb.

Still in the game are: Athens airport and construction company J&P Avax, Zurich airport and Strabag, Aeroporto de Paris and Bouygues that manage Paris airports, daughter company of Houston Airport HAS&ADC and Alpine Bau, Korean Airport that wants to share the concession with a Turkish construction company, Airport Munich with GMR Infrastruktur and South Korean Incheaon Airport with IC Ictas.

No longer in the running are Turkish TUV, French Riviera Airports, Vinci Concessions and German Hochtief Concessions. These four companies did not fulfil the rather strict requirements which include managing an airport with traffic of over 10 million passengers, not owning an airline, being independent from the state budget and not having significant shares in other airports within a 400 kilometre radius from Zagreb airport. The qualifying candidates must have built an airport valued at 150 million Euros or more.
