According to the explanation of Greek border services, all border crossings with countries that have not yet obtained EU membership will be interrupted and the only way to get to Greece until October 24 will be via Bulgaria.

All Macedonian border crossings with Greece were blocked at 6 a.m. on Friday and will remain closed until October 24 because of a ten-day strike of Greek customs officers.

Crossings on the Serbian-Macedonian border Bogorodica, Medzitlija and Stari Dojran are closed for all vehicles and the border can be crossed only on foot.

The most often used Macedonian border crossing with Greece Bogorodica is now empty and the only vehicles driving around are taxis taking citizens to the administrative line which the people then cross on foot.

Macedonian border services called on all citizens to put off their obligations and tourist visits to Greece until the strike is over.
