Bulgaria will launch a campaign to promote local tourism in Romania, Sweden, Poland and Ukraine, weekly Capital said on November 22 2011.

So far, Bulgaria has presented in these states opportunities for Bulgarian tourism only at specialised exhibitions. At the same time, statistics proves that the number of tourists from Romania has been displaying a sustained increase in recent years. According to estimates by tour operators, Poland and Ukraine are among the countries with the highest growth potential.

Bulgaria's Ministry of Economy and Tourism has submitted five advertising campaign projects, which are expected to be financed with 20.5 million leva under the Regional Development operational programme in 2012. Most of the funds will be channelled into television commercials abroad.

In 2011, Bulgaria's promotional campaign as a tourist destination was broadcast by TV channels Eurosport, Euronews, National Geographic and Discovery. According to sources quoted by Capital, Bulgaria will choose the same TV channels this time as well.
