Some fifty global mobile operators received invitations to participate in the tender for the development of the fourth generation of the mobile telephony in Macedonia.

The Electronic Communications Agency, which invited a public call for 4G telephony, sent letters of intent to Deutsche Telekom, France Telecom, Telekom Austria, Turkcell, Norwegian Telenor, Greek Cosmote, Qatar Telecom, China Mobile and to several operators from the USA, Russia, Italy, Great Britain and India.

The tender is opened by December 1. If at least three companies show interest in this project, a tender for submitting offers will be invited. Investors will have to invest EUR 2.5 million for installation of some 80 base stations in Macedonia.
