President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zivko Budimir gave an interview for FENA and tried to give answers to a number of topical issues, pointing out that certain political groups and their officials have ignored the interests of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who gave them their votes and put them in a position to decide, while "the social uprising is felt in the air."
"Bosnia and Herzegovina for the past 13 months has been without any established government and that is a luxury that BiH politicians cannot not afford. Forfeited time cannot be brought back, social rebellion is in the air, with numerous protests of disadvantaged groups announced, retired members of the armed forces, police ... Whereas neighboring Croatia is at the very threshold of the European Union, we are increasingly moving further away, in fact, the processes are happening, and we are in a standstill. Why? Because certain political groups and their officials have ignored the interests of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who gave them votes and put them in a position to decide.
Meeting of our political leaders in Italy have shown all frivolousness and neglect of domestic politics. Such actions show that in fact they do not care about this country and the people who live in it and an increasing number of them are crying for help, going out on the streets looking for the right to a dignified life," said Budimir.
When asked whether the problems within the Federation of BiH are reflected on the state level, Budimir said that the problems from the state level get reflect onto the Federation of BiH.
"A state without a budget cannot function, and of course the consequences of inexistence of the Council of Ministers are felt in the functioning of the Federation of BiH, but I say to all those who think that by blocking the adoption of the budget they would manage to topple Bosnia and Herzegovina, they are in great delusion ," said Budimir.
He spoke on the issue of the audit of the rights of veteran population in the Federation of BiH, and said that as a general and as the president of the Federation of BiH, and, above all, as a person, he wants to see the audit conducted in a lawful, professional and fair manner.
"Unfortunately, this never happened. The law is not respected and it has clearly defined the order by which the audit teams are formed. Audit coordination team is completely isolated from the review process and they have no access to information about the audit teams conducting the audits, and their activities, etc...
The first step in the audit should be a check of belonging to the Armed Forces of all users of the rights of veterans and, accordingly, extract civilians as unlawful users of these rights. We must not allow for civilian casualties to be disenfranchised, but they should be able to use benefits prescribed by the law on civilian casualties of war, "said Budimir.
Responding to a question about the position of the Croat people in BiH, Budimir said that the Croat people are in a particularly difficult situation in RS.
"In fact, it is hard to even talk about the position of Croats in RS since there are almost none of them left, because they were never allowed to return.
Therefore the idea of a District of Bosnian Posavina is particularly important. Croats in the Federation of BiH are not equal, but this is primarily due to the wrong policies led by representatives of the Croat people in the last 20 years.
Also, the numerically dominant people, Bosniaks , must show more sensitivity towards the Croats which are a constituent people in BiH, but also to other groups that have not yet achieved their basic rights. The new government in the Federation of BiH has definitely not worsened the position of the Croats, but it has slightly improved it," said Budimir.
