Bulgaria suspends ACTA participation

Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traikov announced that he would file to the Council of Ministers a draft resolution for suspending the participation of Bulgaria in the international Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA).

Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traikov announced that he would file to the Council of Ministers a draft resolution for suspending the participation of Bulgaria in the international Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA).

That means Bulgaria would not engage with any actions, such as the presenting of the agreement for ratification, before the stand of the other EU member-states becomes clear.

The suggestion has been coordinated with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and he would have the task to defend in Brussels the stand this country has voiced.
