Bulgaria to impose full smoking ban in public places

European Commissioner John Dalli responsible for Health and Consumer Affairs welcomed Bulgaria’s legislation changes that are envisaging the introduction of a full smoking ban in closed public spaces.

European Commissioner John Dalli responsible for Health and Consumer Affairs welcomed Bulgaria’s legislation changes that are envisaging the introduction of a full smoking ban in closed public spaces.

Mr. Dalli met earlier with MPs, PM Boyko Borissov and Healthcare Minister Stefan Konstantinov. In the words of Mr. Dalli, the EC encourages the EU member states that adopt healthcare-related changes in their legislation.

He voiced his satisfaction with Bulgaria meeting the deadline to introduce the ban, which is June 1 2012.
