Hungarian Consul General in Subotica Tamas Korsos has stated that more than 20,000 citizens from the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina have applied for the Hungarian citizenship so far.
Hungarian Consul General in Subotica Tamas Korsos has stated that more than 20,000 citizens from the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina have applied for the Hungarian citizenship so far.
According to him, 10,000 of them have passed oaths of allegiance in Subotica's Consulate General of Hungary, while more than 2,000 Hungarian passports have already been issued.
In a statement for the Hungarian daily Magyar Szo, Korsos stated that those who seek appointment for submitting the application for the Hungarian citizenship will now wait less than a month, since the procedure has been simplified.
