Support in procuring agricultural mechanisation resumes with 50% participation of the state. Macedonia in 2011 and 2012 invested 4 million euros for this measure, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Sunday.

Support in procuring agricultural mechanisation resumes with 50% participation of the state. Macedonia in 2011 and 2012 invested 4 million euros for this measure, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Sunday.

According to Gruevski, the realisation of the project for procurement of agricultural mechanisation went well. "4 million euros will be allocated for support of agricultural mechanisation under conditions defined in our programme - 50% state participation and 50% participation of those who procure," the PM noted.

State support, he added, is of great assistance for Macedonian farmers and a promise made during election campaign that is being fulfilled.

"Many farmers will be able to procure agricultural machines by lower prices i.e. half of the real price, with which they will cultivate land, thus making more yields, while the state will get boosted agricultural production," Gruevski said.

130 million euros have been singled out for agricultural subsidies in 2012.

Efforts are being made additional funds for procurement of agricultural machines to be provided though EU's IPARD programme.
