Milan state prosecutor Mario Venditti, who led the Italian investigation against Darko Saric, said Wednesday that the fugitive drug lord is sought by every police force in the world and that his group has been totally busted, even though it was the world leader in narcotics trafficking just two years ago.

Milan state prosecutor Mario Venditti, who led the Italian investigation against Darko Saric, said Wednesday that the fugitive drug lord is sought by every police force in the world and that his group has been totally busted, even though it was the world leader in narcotics trafficking just two years ago.

Until 2000, this organization had a monopoly on narcotics trafficking not only in Italy, but at an international level, Venditti told reporters in Budva, which is hosting an international prosecutorial conference on combating organized crime.

He said Italian bodies are actively cooperating on the Saric case with Montenegro, Serbia and other countries in the region, Podgorica media reported.

If there is new evidence, it will certainly be forwarded, said Venditti.

Asked if he knows the whereabouts of Darko Saric, Venditti said he only knows he is sought by the FBI, as well as all police forces in Europe.
