PM Berisha visits Albanian troops in Afghanistan

Prime Minister Sali Berisha paid a two-day visit to the Albanian troops in Afghanistan serving in the framework of the NATO mission, ISAF i.e. International Security Assistance Force. Accompanying the prime minister to the visit was the Chief of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Xhemal Gjunkshi.
Prime Minister Sali Berisha paid a two-day visit to the Albanian troops in Afghanistan serving in the framework of the NATO mission, ISAF i.e. International Security Assistance Force. Accompanying the prime minister to the visit was the Chief of the General Staff of the Albanian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Xhemal Gjunkshi.
PM Berisha met the Albanian servicemen on a mission at ISAF headquarters and regional command in Kabul. The prime minister visited the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Spin Boldak in Kandahar where there is stationed the unit of the Albanian Special Forces “Eagle 4” and held a cordial meeting with the servicemen. On the second day, the prime minister met with the unit in Camp Arena, Herat province.
The prime minister expressed grateful thanks to our servicemen for giving credit to Albania with their representation with high dignity and meeting commitments in the framework of the North Atlantic Alliance and in support of Afghani people.
During his stay in Afghanistan, PM Berisha held meetings with Ambassador Simon Gass, the new Senior Civilian Representative (SCR) in Afghanistan, General John R. Allen, commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), Brigadier Luigi Chapperini and Major General Javier Cabeza, ISAF IJC Deputy Commander. PM Berisha expressed grateful thanks to the NATO commands, the Turkish government, the armed forces of the USA and Italy for holding this visit in an easy way.
