Minister of Foreign Affairs Vuk Jeremic said that the support of Hungary and Croatia is of great importance for Serbia's European integration, which is of central strategic priority for our country.

Jeremic said at a news conference after talks with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Balazs and Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Jandrokovic in Budapest that the cooperation between Serbia, Hungary and Croatia is of great importance for the stability of the region.

The Serbian Foreign Minister said that cooperation in the region is very good and that there is great understanding for integration of the Western Balkans into the EU.

He said that the presidents of Serbia, Hungary and Croatia will meet in mid April in Hungary to agree on further cooperation between the three countries.

Balazs said that one the topics of the meeting was the Danube strategy, which is a common interest of the three countries and the EU, the energy and modernisation of the railway and road traffic on Corridors 5 and 10.

The Greek proposal regarding the entry of all Western Balkan countries into the EU in 2014 is unrealistic, however, Hungary is ready to help these countries in their EU accession process, he said.

Establishing 2014 as a date for acquiring EU membership is unrealistic because each country must meet membership criteria separately, Balazs said.

Jandrokovic said that Croatia strongly supports accelerating Serbia’s EU integration process and is ready to exchange experience in that regard.
