The Serbian government Committee for Cherishing Traditions from Liberation Wars is organising a series of events to mark 8 May, Victory in Europe Day, under the auspices of Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic.

The forty best cadets from the Military Academy and students from the Criminal Police Academy will visit the memorials in Jasenovac and Donja Gradina from 7 to 11 May, as well as the Mauthausen Memorial in Vienna.
Minister of Defence Dragan Sutanovac will attend a gun salute at 18.00 on 8 May, at Belgrade fort, while at 18.30 on the same day he will officially open the permanent exhibition of the Military Museum in Belgrade dedicated to World War Two.
At 10.00 on 9 May wreaths will be laid at the Cemetery of the Liberators of Belgrade in World War Two. On behalf of the government, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic will also lay a wreath.
The Ministry of Defence’s orchestra Stanislav Binicki will hold a concert at 13.00 on 9 May at the Cvijeta Zuzoric Pavilion in Kalemegdan and at 18.00 in Trg Republike.
The march of the Serbian Guard Orchestra will take place at 17.00 on 9 May in Belgrade’s high street, Knez Mihailova.
Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic will hold a reception for renowned participants in World War Two, government and parliament members, diplomatic representatives, heads of international missions and other respected guests from 19.00 to 20.30 on 9 May, at the Great War Hall of the Old Army General Staff, Kneza Milosa 33.
