The new candidate for the economy minister will be known after the session of the United Regions of Serbia (URS) on Wednesday, Vice-President of the coalition Veroljub Stevanovic said Friday.

Stevanovic told a news conference he knew who the candidate was but could not say his name before the URS presidency held its session.

Mladjan Dinkic is the outgoing Economy Minister, but the party he is the leader of, G17 Plus, remained a partner in Serbia's coalition government, whose term expires next year.

G17 Plus ran at the last elections together with the most influential party of the ruling coalition, the Democratic Party (DS), but last year, the G17 formed an independent coalition, the URS.

One of the parties in the URS coalition, Together for Sumadija, led by Stevanovic, supports the idea of government reshuffle.

Stevanovic pointed out that he supported the work and policies of Serbian President Boris Tadic and President of the Government of Vojvodina Bojan Pajtic.
