U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden talked Thursday afternoon with Serbian President Boris Tadic, following the news that Serbia has arrested ICTY indictee Ratko Mladic, Tanjug was told by Tadic's office.

Earlier today, the White House welcomed Mladic's arrest, and Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said that the United States expects Mladic will be turned over to the ICTY as soon as possible.

Mladic was arrested early Thursday morning near Zrenjanin, northeastern Serbia.
