First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said in Kitzbuhel that for Western Balkan countries the most important issue is the EU agenda, for which particularly important is the building of European standards and the implementation of visa liberalisation.
Dacic in his address to participants of the Ministerial Conference of the Salzburg Forum in Kitzbuhel expressed gratitude to the Austrian Interior Ministry for the previous good cooperation, adding that all the initiatives launched within that forum were very important and useful.
The Deputy Prime Minister commended good cooperation in the region, stating that the ministries of the interior of Southeast Europe cooperate perfectly, which is reflected in the operational work of police and outstanding common results.
At the same time, this cooperation has recorded major improvement over the previous period, the Minister said and pointed to several successful joint actions, including the seize of narcotics, arrest of traffickers, finding counterfeiters, etc.
Dacic pointed out that all Western Balkan countries are ready to provide the maximum contribution to the joint fight against crime.
He also commented on the latest official data from Belgium, showing that the number of false asylum seekers dropped, which is the result of common cooperation.
The EU itself needs to come up to standard and to unify the issue of asylum, he said.
