Serbian President Boris Tadic met Friday with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in New York, where they are participating in the United Nations General Assembly session.

Tadic said in a statement Thursday to Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS) that he expects that the talks with Clinton would be difficult, but that he was prepared.

Commenting on the U.S. position of support to independence of Kosovo and Metohija, Tadic said that Serbia has made it clear to America and the entire international community that it does not accept the independence of Kosovo. Serbia has also made it clear to everyone that it wants a compromise solution, he said.
