Serbia has registered 7.4 million citizens, and those who were not entered into the registry within the legal deadline of October 15, can contact the commissions to get listed from Sunday to Tuesday, head of the census department at the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS) Snezana Lakcevic told Tanjug Sunday.

Lakcevic said that the citizens who were not entered in the population registry should contact the census commissions in the municipalities or cities where they live, noting that the dates when it can be done are October 16, 17 and 18.

The 2011 census of population, households and dwellings was officially completed on Saturday, Lakcevic said, adding that the precise data on the number of population will be known tomorrow, when all commissions send in their respective collected data.

According to data from the census commission in Presevo, where more than 90 percent of the population is comprised of ethnic Albanians, less than 10 percent of the southern Serbian town was entered into the population registry, which Lakcevic said was the result of calls by political leaders of the ethnic community to boycott the census.

Ljiljana Djordjevic, the head of the RZS census implementation department, told Tanjug earlier that the results from the cities of Belgrade and Novi Sad were the most incomplete, while in smaller towns the census had been fully completed.
